Tips to Tackle Bullying and Harassment in the Workplace

Although we like to think otherwise, bullying and harassment in the workplace is commonplace and should not be tolerated.

We deliver training on dealing with bullying and harassment in the workplace and wanted to share our top three tips for dealing with this issue at work.

1. Be aware that bullying is present in most organisations from the bottom to the top. There are a number of reasons for this, but please be aware that if you fail to deal with it it will affect staff motivation, moral, turnover and legal claims can arise.

2. Develop an organisational culture where bullying is not tolerated and is reported confidently before it becomes an issue. If you let staff know that their concerns will be taken seriously and that you have steps in place they will feel more confident to come forward at an early stage where it can still be resolved easily you will save a lot of valuable time and ensure staff loyalty.

3. As soon as you become aware of a problem - deal with it. We can help by offering training, support and policy for dealing with bullying and harassment in the workplace. Please feel free to call us with any questions.
